This book is a collection of 70 selected English papers of Professor Shrinivas Ritti in simple but impressive language. It covers a wide range of subjects from Indian epigraphy, history, polity, historiography and historical geography to society, religion, culture, marine archaeology and literature. The papers have been organized under different sections depending upon their subject matter. There are twenty-five papers on Epigraphy and Palaeography in the first section; eighteen on History, Polity and Historiography in the second; two on Historical Geography in the third; twelve on Society, Religion and Culture in the fourth; nine on Literature in the fifth; three on Marine Archaeology in the sixth; and an Autobiography in the last. The papers cover a vast span of Indian history from the time of the Harappan Civilization to post­Vijayanagara.
